Business cards are still a fantastic way to share your name and contact details with clients, potential clients and people that you meet during your working day. Despite modern technology, business cards are still useful. Want to stand out from the crowd, with something eye-catching? Why not go for your Spot UV, which highlights areas like your logo of image with UV Varnish. Printed on 450gsm with matt lamination the Spot UV is the application of UV coating to a portion the printed surface, generally to achieve a contrast between the matt lamination.

Matt Lamination – Silky and smooth to the touch, and softens images.
Gloss Lamination – Ultra shiny finish, artwork colours appear punchier.
Velvet Soft Touch Lamination – Feels like peach skin, colours appear richer.
Spot UV – this additional finish adds a raised UV varnish to a chosen area on our Matt Laminated cards

When supplying files for print you must also supply artwork for the spot UV itself. Please always supply as 1 pdf with 4 pages within. Pg 1 - Artwork Front // Pg 2 - Artwork Back // Pg 3 - Spot UV Front // Pg 4 - Spot UV Back
The spot UV artwork should consist of solid black shapes - 100% K only and in the exact position on the page where the spot UV is required, ideally in vector as opposed to bitmap formula. The Spot UV must be on a separate page and have the same dimensions and crop marks in the same position as the printed file.
Spot UV works well on larger areas and as a pattern on a flat background.
PLEASE NOTE: Spot UV varnish is applied using a process similar to screen printing, and has registration tolerances of approximately ±0.5 mm. It is not therefore recommended that small text or thin lines are spot UV'd as perfect register cannot be guaranteed.

Not sure if your artwork is print ready?

When we ask for print ready artwork, it must be high resolution, at the correct size, CMYK with crop marks. If you artwork does not have this we will contact and let you know what changes need to be made. Have a look at our artwork guides for more info.

Do you need design?

If you do not have a design our graphic design team will use their graphic design skills with artworking and pre-production know-how to make your print work harder and ensure it has the professional touch. Our design studio offer a bespoke service including unlimited changes, this means we keep designing until you are 100% happy. Simply add our design service when placing your order and send over what you would like on the design including your logo, text and anything else you think we will need. Our design team will come up with a concept and email over a proof for you to look at. You can then email over changes until we have the final print ready design.

Please note that design will add 2 working days to our standard turnaround times.

What happens once I order?

Once you have placed your order, we will contact you with your order confirmation which will tell you all the information about your order and the estimated delivery address.
