Facebook and Twitter are the two biggest social networks, however both have their own niche. Facebook is great for interacting with friends, family and existing customers. On the other hand, Twitter is for making your business known to potential customers. Both are a great way to promote your business and best of all it is FREE!

Twitter has a great ‘Hashtag’ feature. It allows you to tweet about your businesses whilst also reaching people you most probably don’t know and they don’t have to be your follower.

Secondly, Twitter is great for small messages as you can only write up to 140 characters including spaces, whereas Facebook allows much larger messages.

Facebook is great for targeting Pay per click ad’s as you can target it to certain people, from age to location. Facebook pages are great to update your existing customers about your latest deals and prices.

In conclusion, to gain customers, Twitter is the winner. However, to keep existing customers updated, there is no doubt against Facebook.

Running an online business is all about serving your target market right. It doesn’t really matter what your niche might be; it doesn’t even really matter what kind of solution you offer to your customers; what matters most of all for your success is how well you can set yourself apart from your competitors while you help the people who spend money on you. The reason that so many internet based businesses fail at finding any real success is that they don’t really spend a lot of time figuring out their product’s unique selling position point. It’s really important to know where your product stands in the market and how your target audience views it. Getting as much as possible from your business in the long term is dependent upon your ability to figure out your product or service’s USP.

Help Buyers Save Money: One of the best ways to figure out your USP is to figure out how your product will save customers money. This works in every niche (pretty much) and with just about every product. If your USP can convince your clients that your customers will save more money with you than with your competition, it’s the one you want to go with. But don’t make the mistake of making your product cheap; have some balance. 8211; Remember that people buy things online when their emotions are touched, so you have to find a way to reach people emotionally.

If you can bring out a benefit of your product that jibes with their emotions and makes them want to take action, you’ll make more sales than your competition. You need to strike a balance between being practical and invoking the emotions of your potential customers. This a sure-fire way to get your customers to choose you over your competition, because ultimately, you need to convince them on an emotional level.

Make them the Biggest Promise

To conclude, from this article, you can clearly see just how important it is to develop your own USP if you want to keep moving ahead of your competition. If you aren’t able to convince future buyers that your product is what they need, somebody else will do it. This is why it is important that you figure out your product’s USP as soon as you can if you haven’t done it already. If you have just begun your business, you’re in a superior position because the target market won’t already have formed opinions about you and that means that it is easier for you to create your USP and position yourself within the market.

If you run a business, the chances are that your printed materials are an important part of your advertising and marketing strategy. Whether it’s a business card that you leave with a prospective client or flyers for distribution over a wider area, the design and quality of your printed materials are paramount in presenting your business as professional, polished and attractive to potential customers.

Choosing the best printing service for your business can be a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. With so many printing companies claiming to offer the best quality and services, and throwing in added incentives such as free delivery and a super-fast turnaround, how can you be sure that the company you select is really going to deliver?

What do you need?

In addition to deciding which promotional materials you’d like to have printed (business cards, letter heads, flyers etc) you’ll need to think about the design and quality of your items. If you already have a design for your printed business materials then you’re likely to be looking for a company who simply offer printing services. If, however, you need help with your logo design and are perhaps looking for professional input regarding your company branding as a whole, you’ll need to find a company offering graphic design in addition to printing services.

The Finer Details

Without getting too technical, printers categorise printing paper in gsm – grammes per square metre. Technically, you can print any item onto any weight of paper, however this would not be advisable! Printing your business cards, for example, onto a low gsm paper will produce something rather insubstantial and fail to communicate the high quality, professional image with which you wish your company to be associated. Neither would you wish to print a large poster onto high gsm paper; not only would it be impractical, it would also cost a lot more in delivery than would be desirable. If you’re unsure as to the best type of paper for your business stationery, business cards, flyers of posters, a good printer will be able to advise you accordingly – don’t be afraid to ask.

The quality of your final product is clearly very important and it’s a good idea to ask your prospective printer for recent examples of their work. If you’re fortunate enough to know a little about printing, you’ll be in a good position to ask more insightful questions about specific printing processes, resolution etc, however few people are! The quickest and most reliable way to establish the quality you can expect from your printer is to inspect a range of their work and to ask yourself the simple question, would I be proud to give this to a potential customer? It’s also a good idea to visit the printer’s website and read their testimonials. If other customers have been happy enough with their work to go to the effort of putting it into writing, the chances are you will be too.

The pre-printing process is vital in ensuring that end up with a finished product that you’re delighted with and it’s important to find out how any prospective printer will deal with revisions to your design. Good customer service means that your printer should revise your design until you’re completely happy with it. If you’re going to be financially penalised for making changes at the pre-printing stage, find another printer! It’s also worth asking whether your printing costs will be discounted if you use the company’s design service.

The People Behind the Printing

A Stradivarius violin in the hands of a musical novice will not sound any better than a cheap second-hand fiddle bought from the local market. Similarly, your printed materials will only live up to your expectations if those people carrying out the process have the necessary experience and expertise to do an exceptional job. It’s easy to be seduced by printing companies claiming to be using the latest digital printing equipment and of course, this should be taken into consideration. It’s arguably even more important, however, to consider the people behind the printing! Don’t be afraid to ask questions about their experience and customer service policies and to inspect samples of their work. A reputable printer will be more than happy to share this information with you.

Resource Box

WeePrint offer high quality graphic design and printing services, specialising in business and promotional print and covering the whole of the UK.

Using social media is a great way to make your business seem friendlier and to form closer relationships with your customers. By engaging in social media, your company can interact directly with customers and by creating interesting and useful content you can position yourself as an expert in your field.

It’s quick and easy to set up a company profile on the major social media sites and then start publishing your own content. If your content is interesting, other users will share it with their friends, which will generate interest in your business and click-throughs to your site. Such personal recommendations are a highly effective way to promote a business and using social media has the potential to massively expand your reach.

On Facebook, for example, companies can set up their own ‘page’. Other users can ‘Like’ the page itself and any posts on it. The things that they ‘Like’ will then appear on their own profile for their friends to see. In this way, interesting content will be naturally distributed and generate interest in your business.

Blogging on your site is also a great way of driving traffic. Blog posts tend to be unique and the interactive nature of blogs means that they tend to attract incoming links. These two factors cause blog posts to frequently appear in search engine results, generating natural search traffic.
