Our top tips for creating the perfect Gift Voucher

Creating gift vouchers for your small business is a must. Whether you’re a coffee shop, beautician or clothing store- expanding your offering through the power of gifting is a great engagement tool. Not only does it create opportunities to find new customers through referral, but it can also help your existing customers feel valued.

Gift vouchers are a great way to give someone the gift of choice. And because we're all about making it easy for you, we've put together some top tips for creating the perfect voucher.

Design

Before creating your voucher design, it’s important to think about how your promotion will be used. You might want to offer the same promotion for everyone, or create custom vouchers for specific customers depending on their age, location and purchase history? Perhaps you are doing trials of a bespoke voucher for VIP customers that spend over a certain amount? Or maybe you’re selling vouchers individually to be used as personal or corporate gifts?

It could be something completely different from the above, but in any case, the occasion will determine to look and feel needed for your gift voucher. The typical size for a gift voucher is either A6 or compliment slip size, but you can always do something abit different.

Seasonal Gift Vouchers

If you want to create vouchers around an event, make sure your design features reflect what's going on. For example, if it's a spring sale, then the design should be bright and colourful with lots of different shades. If you’re including vouchers with online orders, they must stand out to have a chance of being noticed. Craft a message that you know will speak to your customers; ‘Treat yourself‘, ‘Gift a special loved one a gift‘ or even ‘A little thank you‘ can be great ways to add a personality to your design.

When you’re deciding on your promotion, make sure to consider any recent sales or product trends so you can send the right offer at the right time.

VIP Gift Vouchers

If you want to keep your best customers happy, you may decide to offer them gift vouchers. This can be a great opportunity to make them feel extra special. By giving your customers something extra, it will not only maintain their loyalty but also give them happy memories of their interaction with the company. They are more likely to tell people about their experience and recommend your business.

When it comes to VIP gift vouchers, you can really go for a luxury finishes. Foiling or Spot uv varnish is a great way to add that luxury look, you can make your design both aesthetically pleasing as well as a nice surprise. Colours such as Rose Gold, and Silver can add a glamorous feel whereas Red, Blue and Copper Foiling options can fit with most brand palettes. Another way is luxury paper stocks which can be textured, embossed or adding other extra finishes like rounded corners. You can really charm with a really high-end feel.

hat information to have on your Gift Voucher

In order to make sure your voucher looks good and works well, it’s important that you include all of the necessary information. When ordering bulk vouchers as a start, include the following as a minimum:

  • Your logo and contact information: so you can be contacted easily
  • A unique voucher number: so you can track sales and redemptions, we can print numbers on each or you can manually add these on each time you write a voucher.
  • Voucher amount: To provide clarity on the sum redeemable or a space to write the amount in.
  • Voucher expiry date: To communicate when the voucher can be used this again can be a box or line to add the date in.
  • Additional T&Cs: This could be anything from the range of products the voucher is redeemable against, to a detail about your no-cash exchange policy. (You can add this in very small so that it doesn’t impact your design too much)

To ensure your brand stands out, we recommend placing your logo prominently on your Flyers Glasgow and using as few words as possible. A simple headline and a brief description of the voucher is enough. A two-sided design allows you to include a bit more information than usual.

You might also want to mention your social media or other marketing handles. This is a nice way to broaden your reach and encourage social sharing of your products and services.

Additional extra like envelopes add that finishing touch. If you’re posting your gift voucher, it stands to reason that their envelopes would match. It can really help them stand out on the doormat! We have a variety of Envelope options available, included Printed Envelope if you really want your gift voucher to be personalised. if you are adding in a few items to send them a Printed Belly Band is a great way to put it all together.
